Today is our last full day in Hawaii, we fly out tomorrow morning and still have a load of packing to do.
We have to pick Baggage up at 10:15, we leave in plenty of time and get there early, though Dianne and the girls are ready and come out to meet us within a few minutes. Baggage had a great time, and had coped with all the bugs around admirably after her initial panic. Whilst there she had: Done some star gazing with Diannes husband Paul who is an Astronomer; watched a dolphin show with penguins in it also; fish identification; touched some fish at the touch pool (Baggage managed to touch a Yellow Tang and a sea cucumber, no one in her group got to touch the shark as it would not come close (would you with a bunch of girls trying to poke you!)); scavenger hunt; ate fish shaped biscuits made by the Brownies; fed turtles and slept in the room with the reef tank in it with the rays, sharks and creepy crawlies. By slept I mean laid down and chatted, Dianne knew the girls were all still awake at 3:30 and then again when she woke up at 5:30, they reckon they slept, Dianne was not so sure. Consequently Baggage was a bit of a wreck when we collected her.
After collecting her we returned to the house, the plan was to go down the beach in the afternoon after she had an opportunity to recover, we were not to make that though as she really was too tired and did not feel like it.
We are preparing for a flight again, so packing takes that little bit longer, all cases have to be weighed and we have to ensure they are below 23Kg, at $100 per case if overweight it is really not worth over packing them. We spend most of the day packing and sorting stuff out, including booking to go and see Cirque de Soleil Love whilst in Vegas and booking our car hire for Florida.
After supper, which was a case of using up a variety of bits and pieces that we had in the fridge and freezer, we did go out to the beach, though only for a walk. We tried to get down to the beach from the far end via the small beach and walk along, but the tide was too high, we ended up walking along the road and going down via the main beach access. On the way we passed an exceptionally large beach front estate, could well have been the place that Michelle Pfeiffer used to own, certainly had impressive gates!
When down on the beach we saw the reef just off shore, we had not noticed it when we came down here swimming, possibly because earlier in the day the sun was so bright and reflecting off the water, now it was a very noticeable dark patch in the water. Lisa could possibly have walked just down the road from our house and snorkelled with turtles, something she has not managed whilst we have been in Hawaii.
Back to the house and I am busy catching up with the Baggage videos, over the past couple of days I have almost caught up with the Hawaii backlog. I have three bottles of beer to drink up tonight also, so I had better get started.
