22nd June - Return to Florida

Our travelling has come to an end, yet we are not returning to the UK until nearly the end of August, to fill the gap we are spending the summer in Florida, tropical storms and all!

There is no rush this morning, we do not plan on leaving the hotel until nearly midday, as that is when we have to check out and we do not fly until 4pm. We get up, finish off the packing and then drag the suitcases with us when we go down to breakfast so that we can get them in the car. We decide to eat at Kahunaville again, this time Lisa and I go for the three eggs and Baggage goes for a fruit platter and it is massive, there is so much fruit on it that it would have done as a continental breakfast for the three of us, she manages it very well, though there is never any possibility of her eating it all.

After breakfast I head for the lobby and check us out and then head back up to the room and we finish off our last few bits of packing, we eventually leave the room just after 11am. On the way to the airport we have to get fuel and it turns out to be a good job we are running a bit early as we drive to the airport to find out the car return is some six miles away, so we then have to head over there, return the car and get a shuttle bus back to the airport. Had I been thinking ahead I could have dropped Lisa and Baggage off at the departure area as I drove through the airport, but I was not so we all ended up hauling our cases onto and off of the transit bus. Check-in was painless and we were soon all sitting in the departure lounge. We managed to find a free Internet connection so that enabled us all to catch up on email whilst waiting for the flight. The most memorable event in the airport was when Baggage kicked over a full cup of Sprite, it went all over the floor and all down the side of a gentleman’s luggage, luckily he was pretty laid back about it and did not seem to mind too much, though it was pretty embarrassing for us!

The plane left pretty well on time, the flight was pretty uneventful and we arrived in Orlando pretty well on-time. Our flight got us in at 11:30 and by the time we had got our bags and the hire car and were driving out of the airport it was well after midnight.

On the way to the house we stopped off at Walmart to get a few basic supplies and then finally made it to the house at nearly 2am. In our minds of course it was only 11am as we had gained three hours during the flight over from Vegas.

Even though it was so late we did not rush straight off to bed, instead we allowed ourselves to chill a bit and then called it a day, one thing we did not do was unpack anything other than what we needed to go to bed from the cases.

I did manage to pick up a few beers when in Walmart, I got Honeymoon, the summer ale from Blue Moon brewery, though it will have to wait until tomorrow night for me to see what that is like.
